The Guest Bedroom Project
This might be my favorite room in the house right now, but it certainly didn’t start that way.
Although the Walk-In Closet Project was a year-long effort, it was well worth it and makes the guest bedroom extra special. Once the closet was done, the guest bedroom didn’t need much aside from cosmetic fixes. Juan closed up the old closet opening to give us a full, uninterrupted wall to put the headboard up against, and just enough room for my two Target Project 62 night stands and Opalhouse lamps.
The bed and mirror were amazing craigslist finds. The mango-wood, hand-carved bed is originally from Anthropologie where, at full price it probably cost the original owner close to $2500, but I got it for $400! It was an unbelievable find and a reminder to always check Craigslist and Facebook marketplace before paying full price. The craigslist mirror was originally from Crate and Barrel and a steal at $80.
We added a beautiful cane webbed cabinet from Urban Outfitters for some storage, a fun Target Opalhouse chair, and a few plants and decorative elements for interest to tie everything together.
