The Radiator Project

We have radiators throughout the house and I’ve worked to try to find a way to make them dual purpose and stylish. I found that World Market shelves are the absolute perfect size to fit right on top of each of my radiators, so I’ve made a bunch of different radiator covers (more posts to come!).

I started with the one in our Master, where I wanted to make the radiator look more like a piece of furniture, since its the first thing your eye catches when you walk in.

I had two night stands from Target that were made out of mango wood (see The Master Bedroom Project), and when I found these mango wood inlay shelves at World Market, I knew they would tie everything together perfectly. I bought a few shelves, had my husband make a few cuts and then screw it all together to create a really stunning piece that gives my plants a nice little shelf and still lets the radiator breathe.
